I will stamp all over 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
